Steam Turbine Calculations
FCYCLE provides two methods for specifying turbine performance
1. User defined efficiency data
This is in the form of curves and constants taken from a at least one, and preferably several, vendor heat
balances. This method is suitable for any make of steam turbine.
2. Published General Electric Company Efficiency Data
Turbine efficiencies are taken from data published by the General Electric Company in the 1970 era. For turbines from that era, It allows accurate near perfectly accurate modeling of GE turbines, and very accurate modeling of turbines from other vendors. For modern turbines, adjustment factors may be entered to adjust the efficiencies for the improvements that have occurred since the 1970’s. This method is ideal for defining turbine performance accurately with a minimum of data.
